Anyone attending a recent BWVA Annual or Board of Directors meeting has been impressed with the detail, visually enhanced and easily understood reports of our Treasurer, William “Bill” Quam. His knowledge and energy will now benefit AIPCA with his appointment to its Finance Committee.
The Committee meets monthly. It is responsible for overseeing frequent financial statement creation and analysis, budgeting for operations, maintenance and updating of its capital reserve study, the annual audit of financials and formulating funding plans for large construction projects.
Bill has an accounting degree from the University of Georgia and an MBA from The Citadel. He became a CPA in 1986. His professional career has been in public accounting (taxes and audits) for major corporations (accounting and finance). He retired from Santee Cooper, a large electric utility in South Carolina, where his responsibilities included management of budget, forecasting, rate making and accounting for electric generation and public water facilities.
Cheryl, Bill and their canine friend, Chester, moved to Beach Wood from South Carolina in April, 2008, and are full time residents. As shown in his photo, Bill is an avid outdoorsman particularly enjoying long bike trips and hikes. Beach Wood, AIPCA and the Nassau County Humane Society, where he is a volunteer fund raiser, are fortunate to have Bill on their team.
